1.2.    How much money can I expect for my old tarpaulins?
Our prices vary according to their colour, weight per square metre and appearance etc. We price per kilogram of useable tarpaulin.

Contact us. We will be glad to send you an initial, approximate, offer. The definite amount depends on the final weight of usable tarpaulin, as weighed at our factory in Zurich. Based on our experience, we assume that 50% of the delivered weight can be used for our needs.

2.1.    Who organises the transport of the tarpaulins?
We will help you with this. Unless we are otherwise advised by you, we will take care of everything together with our local partner. Our local partner will contact you in order to arrange the precise pick-up date for the tarpaulins. We will also clear the goods for import in Switzerland and meet the costs of clearance.

2.2.    How does the pick-up and delivery of the tarpaulins work?
Once we have confirmed all arrangements, we will organise the pick-up with our local partner, who will contact you in order to arrange a precise pick-up date for the tarpaulins. A few days later, the tarpaulins will finally arrive at our factory in Zurich.

2.3.    What is the minimum quantity of tarpaulins needed for pick-up?
All tarpaulins are processed in our factory in Zurich. Depending on how far away you are from Switzerland, we will organise the transportation of a minimum of two pallets. In our experience, four to five tarpaulins can fit on a EUR-EPAL pallet.
Please contact us for further and more detailed indications.

2.4.    How shall I prepare the tarpaulins?
In order to ease the handling of the pallets, the tarpaulins should be well fastened, preferably strapped or ringed, on one or more EUR-EPAL pallets (80 x 120 cm, max. 600 kg per pallet). In our experience, four to five tarpaulins can fit on a EUR-EPAL pallet. The picture below shows both a good and a bad example.

We receive several deliveries every day. Therefore, it is important clearly to indicate your name on each pallet.

2.5.    I would like to get my pallets back. Is this possible?
Yes. If you use EUR-EPAL pallets we can exchange your pallets during the pick-up. Please mention your request at the time you confirm the arrangements. We recommend you remind our local partner of your request when you are contacted by him.

2.6.    How do I get the payment?
As soon as the tarpaulins arrive in our factory in Zurich, we cut them and scrape out any eyelets and tension belts. We also cut out brittle or perished parts that cannot be used for the production of our bags. Based on our experience, we assume that 50% of the delivered weight fit our needs. Those parts that can be used for the production of our bags are then sorted by colour and weighed. Depending on the standard price quoted on our first offer, you will then receive notice of the exact payment amount. We will transfer the amount due to your bank account, or, if you prefer, you can send us an invoice mentioning the corresponding amount, that we will pay in agreed conditions.

2.7.    I would prefer to get cash payment. Is this possible?
No. We pay our suppliers by inter-bank transfer only in accordance with our payment notice or after having received an invoice from the supplier.

3.1.    Do you really only buy used tarpaulins?
Our bags look used, made of materials that have seen service on the road: well-travelled truck tarpaulins, unravelled seat belts, bicycle inner tubes beyond repair, recycled airbags. In addition, each tarpaulin wears in an individual way. We are particularly interested in a matt and scratched appearance and a surface worn away by use. This is why we do not buy any container covers, advertising or tent tarpaulins, although the initial composition of the PVC is exactly the same as those of truck tarpaulins.

3.2.    I have tent tarpaulins that have the same consistency as those of truck tarpaulins. Do you buy them, too?
No. We only buy used truck tarpaulins. Please read the answer to question 3.1.

No. We only buy used truck tarpaulins. Please read the answer to question 3.1.

3.4.    How thick should the truck tarpaulins be to fit your needs?
The tarpaulins that we buy are old truck tarpaulins, with a high-strength base fabric that has a PVC coating on both sides. Its weight per square meter varies between 600 and 900 grams.

3.5.    Are there particular cases when you do not buy the tarpaulins?
First and foremost, they have to be old truck tarpaulins and not container covers, construction, advertising, or tent tarpaulins.
Once cut, the tarpaulins are washed in industrial machines. Consequently, we cannot use tarpaulins that are partly covered with adhesive foil, tarpaulins where the PVC coating has been worn down to the fabric, or brittle or perished tarpaulins that have lost their initial texture. Burglar-proofed tarpaulins are also unusable for the production of our bags.

3.6.    I have tarpaulins with and without brand marks. In which of them are you interested?
Our products come in different colours and themes – have a look at our online shop! Clearly we mainly buy tarpaulins that have brands all over the surface. Due to the growth of our portfolio of products, however, we are also interested in tarpaulins with few brand marks or even with no brand marks at all. Please contact us for further information on the type and colour of single-colour tarpaulins, which are of interest to us.

3.7.    I have tarpaulins with digital printing on them. Are you interested in them?
Yes, we also buy tarpaulins that have been digitally printed.

3.8.    My tarpaulins are partially covered with adhesive foil. Can you use them?
No, we unfortunately cannot. During the cleaning process the adhesive foil normally detaches from the surface and leaves adhesive traces on the tarpaulins.

3.9.    My tarpaulins have extensively been used. Do you buy them anyway?
Dirt and tears have no influence on the quality of the material. However, we cannot use tarpaulins where the PVC coating has been worn down to the fabric, or brittle or perished tarpaulins that have lost their initial texture and flexibility.

4.1.    How can I know how my tarpaulins will be used?
We manufacture bags using tarpaulins as the base material. The tarpaulins are cut in such a way that makes the imprint or the logo of your company or your client unrecognisable. We guarantee that your tarpaulins will not be used for any other purposes nor will they be sold to third parties.

4.2.    What do you exactly do with tarpaulins?
As soon as the tarpaulins arrive in our factory building in Zurich we cut them and scrape out the eyelets and tension belts. We also cut out brittle or perished parts that are unusable for the production of our bags.
Parts that we can use for the production of our bags are washed in industrial machines and dried. We then cut the different pieces needed for our bags, put them together and finalise the product with accessories. At this stage, the bag can be sold in any of our retail outlets or on our online shop.

4.3.    Could one recognize my company’s name on your bags?
No. The tarpaulins are cut in such a way that makes the imprint or the logo of your company or your client unrecognisable.

4.4.    What do you do with my tarpaulins if, once delivered, you cannot use them?
If your tarpaulins do not fit our quality criteria, we take care of their disposal and recycle them with the aid of our partner Texyloop.
We reserve the right to deduct the transportation costs from the value of the delivered tarpaulins should we frequently receive unusable material (c.f. quality criteria mentioned above).

5.1.    I would like to get bags made with my tarpaulins. Is this possible?
Unfortunately not, due both to the additional costs involved and the anonymity of the tarpaulins, once they have been cut. We do not manufacture bags to order.

5.2.    Which are the suppliers you already worked with? Do you have any references?
We work together with most of the larger European hauliers and tarpaulin manufacturers. Planzer, a major Swiss company, was one of our first suppliers and still is, regularly delivering old tarpaulins. We also work together with Texyloop, an initiative of the Ferrari Group, a global stakeholder in the composite textile and membrane field.
